We hope that the local government would re-commemorate or perhaps build a monument in honor of June 18, 1898 - the date of the Surrender of the Spanish Forces to the Filipino Revolutionaries in Lipa. Before renaming it CM Recto Avenue, our main street in the city center was officially named "Calle del 18 de Junio" to memorialize this epic event in our city's history. Without the capture of Villa de Lipa, the revolutionary expeditions of liberating other towns in the South from the Spanish forces would have been greatly delayed.

A blessed and meaningful Holy Week Lipeños. The Señor Santo Entierro in the silver calandra, originally owned by gobernadorcillo Don Lino Katigbak, has been the highlight of the Good Friday procession in Lipa since the late 19th century. #santoentierrolipa #santoentierro #semanasanta #lipacity #lipacathedral #viernessanto #goodfriday

Rosario Dimayuga y Mayo,  although a late bloomer in the arts at the age of 70,  found a great interest in interior design. Despite not having formal training in this discipline, she paved her way to becoming one of the top interior designers in the country and was even posthumously conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for Interior Design.  She was married to Valeriano Katigbak Luz. Their sons, Alfredo and Arturo ,both became famous in their chosen careers. Alfredo was an architect who designed the World Health Organization (WHO) building in Manila, the Magsaysay Center, and the Los Baños International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) complex while Arturo, the youngest in the family, was declared National Artist for Visual Arts in 1997.
